Beethoven's Metamorphosis

Ludwig van Beethoven is considered by many to be history's most accomplished composer of string quartets. We are very pleased to offer a program in the spring of 2013 consisting of three of his masterworks, taken from each of his compositional periods:

Quartet in D, Op. 18 No. 3

Quartet in F, Op. 135

Quartet in E minor, Op. 59 No. 2

With this program, we will also be taking part in two Beethoven quartet cycles (shared with other groups), one in the region of Twente in the Netherlands (click here for more information on that concert) and one at the University of Oklahoma, where we will be replacing Op. 59 No. 2 with Op. 132.

Please join us as we enter the world of this great composer and experience his metamorphosis from young classical pianist-composer, to middle-aged 'heroic' and daring maverick, to the completely deaf convalescent whose last five quartets were his farewell to this Earth.
